About us

Sómi was founded in 1978 by Bjarni Sveinsson and Sigrún Hjaltalín. At first Sómi specialized making hamburger lunch meals for hungry Icelanders but later Sómi expanded into also making ready to eat sandwiches. Since then Sómi has grown into a 100 employee company that makes dozens of products, ready to eat sandwiches and meals, made fresh every day, and perfect for people on the go.
